In 2004, four determined and passionate ladies had the desire and dream to bring a sorority to the A&M-Commerce that fit their values and culture. With the help of Denise Dupont (Advisor), the Spanish professor, and Rolando Moody, (who helped to initiate "Hermanas United" which would then serve as a base to charter a KDchi chapter here at A&M), a member of Omega Delta Phi; Matilde Banuelos, and Erica Gonzales began researching on how to become a future chapter of a multicultural sorority.

It was not until March 18, 2006, ten lovely ladies were pinned by the National Expansion Chair, Ruby Alvarado-Hernandez, and Dana Ortega, the National Recruitment Chair, and started a Kappa Delta Chi Colony of Texas A&M University-Commerce. The Epsilon Chapter at the University of Texas at Arlington was known as their Big Sis Chapter where they served as mentors to continue the growth of the Colony.

On May 20, 2006, six girls were initiated and became members if Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc. These six girls (Axa Lima, Carmen Azuara, Celeste Eckstein, Nydia Villalpando, Selena Woods, and Cynthia Arvizu) are referred to as Charter of KDChi at Texas A&M University - Commerce.

On September 16, 2006, twelve glorious sisters (Sunjay Bustamante, Rita Castillo, Emily Cox, Merari Garcia, Carina Faz, Alma Flores, Mella Lopez, Ashlee Ramirez, Angela Morales, Connie Rodriguez, Veronica Rodriguez, & Gabriela Salas) had the determination to follow the steps of our Charter to become the Alpha Class "Pimpin Penguinettes" of Kappa Delta Chi Colony - Commerce.

On Friday, November 17, 2006, with the help of the Alpha Class, the Kappa Delta Chi Colony at Texas A&M University - Commerce was inducted as the Absolutely Xquisite Alpha Xi Chapter of Kappa Delta Chi.
